Brooklyn: Where rich people spend thousands to look poor.

I try to be as open minded as possible. So when I was in New York last week, I decided to give Brooklyn a chance...I heard a tree grows there. I decided to go to Brooklyn Flea with my friend to experience the whole sha-bang. My friend fore-warned me about the hipsters and "independant artists" roaming in Brooklyn, I figure I could handle it since I was used to seeing them at Dolores Park.

Here is the face I made for about 30 minutes when I was at Brooklyn Flea.
(This is before I broke out in hives from all the garbage that was being sold)

This is a baby head in a red bucket being sold by a vendor for $17. If you're thinking "WTF", that's what I was thinking too.

Here I am looking at thousands of dollars worth of merchandise.

(Transformation of hipster begins. Note Hipsterism: Red "Vintage" Purse, Hair pulled up, and Interest in "Vintage" Fashion.)

Coming from the O.C. (Original Chinatown), I’ve had my fair share of adversity, but Brooklyn takes it to a whole new level. The difference between Chinatown and Brooklyn can be summed up in one scenario. In Chinatown, if you see a mouse, you will kill it along with 8 generations of its ancestors and offsprings. In Brooklyn, hipsters will kill the mouse and taxidermy it look like a family waiting for the subway. Nuff Said.

But in all fairness, after about 2 hours of hanging out in Brooklyn and "vintage shopping" we did come across this great boutique called Pema NY. It's probably the only place in Brooklyn that sells unworn clothing, so check it out. I ended up with a cute pair of oxford heels and a royal blue dress. Beware though, Yelp says the price range for Pema NY is $$$. That's right beezy's - Poor doesn't come cheap in Brooklyn.

UPDATE: If you type in Tea + Brooklyn + Hives, "wongevitea.blogspot.com" will be the 7th result you'll see. I am so excited ya'll.
